I am a Italian solider, I have been out here for a couple of weeks things have gotten a lot of worse out here. We were sent out here to support Austria-Hungary. That's the whole reason we had gotten in this mess in the first place. We now understand that it turned out Italy would support Austria-Hungary if they went to war. It all started with the assassination of the arch duke.
Assassination of the Arch Duke, June 30, 1914
Today while I was writing a letter to my family because i was in Italian boot camp. My family still doesn't understand why I went into the Italian Army, but I know why
I went, it was because i had something to prove to my parents. Anyways today we had
heard about the assassination of the Arch duke of Austria-Hungary. This could lead to
something bad because we vowed to take sides with Austria-Hungary. Our alliance
is known as the Triple Alliance. Germany is the third country in the Triple Alliance. So I
predict many complications to come.
Italy joins the war, April, 1915
It is april 1915 our country has now officialy joined the war.
We are shipping out tonight to go the coast of Austria Hungary to join them.
We plan to go to war with Serbia, but there is a problem Serbia has an
alliance too. There alliance now includes Russia, France, Great Britain.
For now i guess we are staying here, O, wait we just got informed we will
be moving out as fast as possible next time we will talk, it will be a while.
Weapons of World War l, September, 1915
It is September of 1915, we are five months into the war, a new weapon
has been developed for holding down the enemy. This weapon
is called the Machine Gun, or that's what we call it but we don't
know what the opposing countries call it, but what we do know
is that it is very useful in this war because 2/3 of this war is
being fought in the trenches. This weapon fires so many rounds a second
that it can hold down any enemy and can beat any other weapon.
Soldiers needed for Italian Army, November, 1915
Hello again it is November, 1915, we have been out here for quite a long time.
I'm not sure how long it's going to take before we get home but Christmas is coming
up and we all miss our families and hopefully this will be over by next Christmas. That
is only a dream though because the only way that will happen is if we get more Italian soldiers
to come help right away. Because the more soldiers hopefully the faster this war will go.

Russia leaves and U.S arrives, February, 1917
It is February, 1917 now we can officially say that we have been here for a long time. It's been almost two years. Russia has recently left the great war. This had a great effect on our nation because it gave us hope that we might win because we have been falling behind in the war. Then just a couple of weeks later our hopes were destroyed again because it was official the United States Of America has declared war on Germany. Since we have an alliance with Germany this means the U.S is also against us. The U.S is suppose to have an extremely powerful army, they recently sent over two million armed soldiers. This could lead to a bad outcome for us.
Christmas During World War 1
I took this photo during Christmas of 1915, the picture shows us walking over and
sharing drinks and food with the enemy. Our commanders stated that we don't do it, but
we did anyways because that's all we wanted to do was feel at home and that's exactly what happened.
We named this the Christmas Truce, because for this one day we all could be happy and share our
feelings with the enemy. But the very next day we were back at the war. I did not find it easy firing my gun
at someone I talked to and shared a drink with the day before, but you do what you gotta do. Alright my
Commander is calling me I have to go I will try to write more if I get a chance to, but I doubt it.

Home It is June, 1928 the war is finally over
I can now go home and enjoy the company
of my family I am on my way right now, even though
we lost the war I don't care because I am going
home to see my family, and friends. This is the
happiest day of my life, I am glad I got to share my
story to who ever reads this and sadly this is the last
time we will talk because I won't be writing anymore.
Goodbye to You AllTreaty Of Versailles It is June 28, 1919, the war is finnaly over, the German leaders just signed a treaty that ended the war The treaty was named the Treaty Of Versailles. This states that the germans have to pay for all of there damages because they took full blame for the war. I don't think this will be the end though, the German leaders seemed pretty mad, like they didn't want to sign it. I have a feeling this will lead to something Bigger
